Can´t access some mailboxes after v5.0 upgrade

I was recently invited by Thunderbird to upgrade to v5.0 (from within the app). I selected this option, believing that with portable apps this is generally okay, i.e. it will not mess up the portable nature of the app.

I am now not able to access the mailboxes on certain servers (GoDaddy Europe). It asks for the password and seems to accept it, but no emails are downloaded. This is using an IMAP server and none of the settings seems to have changed when upgrading to v5.0

I still have access to a mailbox on another server and that is working fine.

I have run the PortableApps installer again to "repair" the version of Thunderbird I am running, but it is still borked.

What has changed in v5.0 that could be causing this?

Cheers for any help

Jonathan

Settings

I'd recommend double-checking the server settings. Compare the settings *and the ports* to the ones GoDaddy says to use. If that fails, go into passwords (Tools - Options - Security) and remove the saved passwords for that server and then have Thunderbird reprompt you.

Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply John,

The ports was the first thing I checked. And I have never used the password manager. It's not that Wink

Cheers

Redo It

In that case, I'd suggest redoing your server setup. Since it's IMAP and everything lives on the server, delete the account and the recreate it. Be sure to remove the SMTP account as well for good measure. Anything further is a TB issue and not TB Portable, so I'd search for TB issues related.
