PortableApps platform doesn't launch automatically from USB memory stick

Hi all,

When I insert the USB memory stick with Portable Apps installed into my USB port, I would like the Portable Apps platform to launch automatically.

As far as I know autorun is enabled and the autorun.ini file is present on the stick so not sure where I am going wrong.

Many thanks.

Microsoft DIsabled It / We Have a Utility

Autorun was never enabled on USB sticks. Autoplay used to be, which would allow a "Start PortableApps.com" option to appear in the autoplay menu on insertion you could select. That has now been disabled on all versions of Windows in a recent security update. There is no option to bring it back from Microsoft nor will there ever be.

We have a test utility available that will autorun the PA.c platform here:
https://portableapps.com/node/13770

It's built for the 1.6.1 and 2.0 Beta 5 releases, though, so you will need to rename Start.exe to StartPortableApps.exe for it to work. We'll release an update for it.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

No Gui

I use the nogui version of the utility at the moment, will you be releasing it, or just the one that shows the console?
