I tried Firefox Portable 3.6 on my Mac, and it didn't work.
Add-ons didn't work. They showed up in the add-ons window, but nowhere else.
It also created multiple copies of some files in the profile folder. The new copies all had numbers at the end. These files are extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, localstore.rdf, prefs.js, and sessionstore.js.
This was on Mac OS X 10.6.6 and Playonmac 2.4.5 version of Wine.
I would be willing to test fixes.
