I'm running Version 2.0 Pre-Release 2.1 of the Platform on a Toshiba NB205 netbook running Windows XP.
Under Advanced Options I checked the box to "Check for Updates... On Platform Start-up."
I exited the Platform then started it again.
The Platform loads, then minimizes to the System Tray.
Although I know (from checking manually) that no updates are available, nothing indicates that the application has checked for updates.
Whatever is happening, the messages that appear when I manually click "Manage Apps" | "Check for Updates" do not appear with this Options setting.
Am I missing something?

That's how it's designed to work. Your not supposed to see the updater window unless you have apps to update. The fact that the platform minimizes to the tray when this option is enabled is a bug that's currently being worked on.
