What could be really cool addition to portable apps is a small Linux distrobution that can fit onto a small flash drive and have most of the apps available. Portable Apps could distribute a lot of the apps in linux form for the OS. I probably can work on this but no promises. If you can help or have comments post. Thanks.

just before you earn some flames , as this was asked so many times and discussed so many times here.
The answer will be probably in the direction: why to do such thing, there are so many linux distros with life system around, any size , any power any language and thousands of programs , so why should someone start next such project?

there has been many discussions on this.
You need to be able to boot to USB to be able to use a portable OS or for those OS's within an OS like COlinux you need admin rights which takes away from the point of having a portable app.
