What about???

CamStudio, I can't seem to find a working portable version.

What about this, http://www.kace.com/products/freetools/secure-browser/

or this

https://www.torproject.org/ , this one seems good since they are using Johns portable app anyway.

or this

http://www.radiosure.com/ , i run this one off my thumb drive and it was free, but i don't know that they would allow it or not.

thanks, all of you do a great job!

k

CamStudio is in the beta forums (it's old, though)

Secure browser--don't think so:

The Secure Browser uses virtualization technology to provide a safer web experience to users and organizations. When using the Secure Browser any changes or malicious files inadvertently downloaded from the Internet are contained within the secure browser, keeping the underlying OS and computer secure from hostile changes. Any changes resulting from browser activity may be quickly and easily reset to effectively “undo” such changes and return it to its initially installed state.

That usually means drivers which means it'd need administrative rights. Don't know for sure.

Torproject I have no idea, but I'll look. Same for RadioSure.

Feel free to take over

Feel free to take over CamStudio. I was given the okay by tanisthalon way back. But I haven't the time for it anymore.

No more posts...

At the moment, I'm currently drowning in school stuff. I can't do squat for the moment. You can ask if you want, but be warned: I might not come out with anything new for a long time (at least a month and a half).

Edit Pad Lite

Sorry I know you are currently 'unavailable' but please if you get a chance to, add Edit Pad Lite to the PA.com repertoire. I know it's another Notepad replacement, but, as much as I like Notepad++, it's far too slow to open for regular use. Notepad2 doesn't use tabs. So, I'm screwed!!!

I really wish I knew how to make these launchers myself as I'd make quite a few!

Portable available with EditPad Pro

"Create Portable Install" is a feature of EditPad Pro (accessible from the help menu). Being that this is a "Pro" Feature, I doubt that you would get permission to make lite portable.

I do agree that EditPad is the best text editor. I have been using it for years, and it just keeps getting better and better.

Disclaimer: I know that using the word "Best" is only asking to start a war but that is my opinion (or maybe it's fact) Wink

It amazes me that on the internet you can be anything you want, and yet so many people still choose to be idiots.

This is not the official place to request apps, btw

This thread was started by Pyromaniac to help him get ideas for projects. Now he has posted "No More Apps" in the original post, and has added the word [Complete] to the title, indicating that he already has too much on his plate.

If you want to request an app, please post it in the "Request Apps" forum. That is the official place to do it, so that all the developers will see your request.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.

I looked at it

The license does not permit it. But you can make a portable version yourself in like 15 seconds--just download the EditPad Lite installer and it asks you if you want to make a portable installation right off the bat. And from what I can tell, it's portable across drives.

Sorry I didn't realise you

Sorry I didn't realise you checked it out Pyro! I know how to make things portable, well some. I use UniExtract on most or install and copy folder on others. Those that still leave bits in folders I use X-Launcher. But I can only go so far with it! I'm far from an expert!

Also the main reason I want it made with a PA.com Launcher is so it will auto update as well as being portable.

In response to Solanus's comment, I know this isn't the place to request apps and it was a request by Pyromaniac for ideas. I didn't realise though that [Complete] meant closed! which would be a better word to use in my opinion, but hey, what do I know Wink

Thanks for the feedback anyway.

It was [Closed]

I previously had it say "Closed" (a while ago), but a mod changed it to Complete, so I've left it at that.

About updating, EditPad Lite lets you check for updates in Help->Check for New Version. I didn't find an auto-check for updates option, but it's better than nothing. Smile
