Should Portable FF1.5 manage passwords?

Is it okay to use the password manager inside portablefirefox when running it from a usb flash drive? I saw this under the copying local files section of this website:

"When you start Portable Firefox for the first time, be sure to turn off disk cache, password saving and history if you're using a non-hard drive portable device."

I also run an external password manager (KeePass).
Any help would be useful. Thanks.

KeePass + PFF Passwords

KeePass is far more secure than FF for password management. Have you tried getting KeePass to work with Portable FF? That's on my list.

KeePass Does work...

Yes, Keepass works with portable firefox (perfectly with the global auto-type function). The only thing you can't do is launch a website in portable FF using Keepass; it uses the IE found in windows.

Try Roboform

I installed portable Roboform (called Pass2go) which is free. It interfaces with Portable Firefox using an .xpi extension. I copied my passwords from the desktop and the whole thing works great.

Pass2go Compatibility Issues

I tried installing the AiRoboForm-Mozilla-Adapter on Portable Firefox 1.5, but the support for PFF only goes up to version 1.07. The installation failed. For now, KeePass should do just fine.

How to work PFF with KeePass

Well to make the most of KeePass i configured it as so.
Under the Advanced tab under options i've only selected:

copy urls to clipboard
remembered last opened files
automatically open last used db on startup
start minimized and locked
automatically save db on exit
automatically generate random pwords

and after opening keepass and filling entries, you just use the global autokey (crtl+alt+a) and it automatically fills in the site.

Feel free to ask any questions...

I'm not sure how your configuration works what is the exact sequence when you want to open a link. At what point do you press ctrl+alt+a
I've tried it and maybe I'm doing something wrong but it aint workin

Using KeePass

It seems to me that KeePass can not automatically find the input fields, so if you click your cursor in the first field and then hit Ctrl + Alt + A it will fill in the fields for you.
Good luck, it is great when thing just work lol!
