PA installation on non-USB devices

Hello all!

FYI my philosophy is that the dumbest question is the one that isn't asked, so you've all been warned! LOL!

Seriously though, I haven't spotted any information here with regards to installing PA on other devices such as an SD/CF card etc. Are there any instructions available or did I miss something when I was searching around?

Cheers,
Eros

drive letter

You can install the platform and all apps on everything that shows up in your windows explorer with a drive letter (usb drive, photo card, mp3 player, cloud drive, whatever).

with one caution in there

try to keep your PA install as close to the ROOT of the drive as possible to bypass long path problems (some aps get funky if they are in a to long path).

so C:\PA\ would work but C:\Users\Security Level 9\Conan the Destroyer\Desktop\Portable Apps Staging\ is right out.

EEE PC

I have been running PA on my Eee PC for years. They are on my SD card on the E drive.
Never any problem. That's what makes it so great, you don't have to install them!
I have a shortcut on my desktop to the Apps menu on E drive.

It's confusing to say the least.

Would there be any way to have some kind of detection mechanism that would know where stuff is?
