I have created a new portable version of Gnumeric (Gnumeric is a spreadsheet, a computer program used to manipulate and analyze numeric data). This is the stable branch of 1.6.
Features:
- Directory structure is compatible to portableapps.com
- Uses installed settings
- Fancy splash-screen
The selfextracting archive can be downloaded from its current location.
The download link (14.8 MB):
GnumericPortable 1.7.10 English (latest development branch)
The download link (23.0 MB):
GnumericPortable 1.7.10 Multilingual (latest development branch)
Updated 03/02/07 - based on 0.9 PAF for PAM compatability
The download link (15.50 MB):
GnumericPortable 1.6.3 (latest stable branch)
Regards,
tanisthalon
03/01/07 Added 1.7.6 for those that want the latest release. Awaiting PAF docs before releasing PAF compatible version.

you get the page up, I'll mirror it.
Also, try and make it PAF compatible (woot! 1st person to use this term).

I'll mirror too. The best way to make this paf compatible I found is to add .paf but to make sure it is use Johns NSI Script and see if it is that way or if there are any changes in the script
EDIT: I just checked it out and really nothing new so it is safe just to add .paf to the end of your file. Unless John wants to clarify what I said in case I made a mistake

that doesn't actually make it PAF compatible.

"What about Love?" - "Overrated. Biochemically no different than eating large quantities of chocolate." - Al Pacino in The Devils Advocate
it writes settings to current user profile
and creates a settings file for the theme if u change it via the theme changer
%userprofile%\.gtkrc-2.0"
a simple line in a batch script can take care of it...
del "%userprofile%\.gtkrc-2.0"
so far the script doesnt take care of it and also the template is a huge CPU usage consumer on older pcs (say 550MHERTZ CPU power)

It would make it easier to install if you put the ".PAF" before the ".EXE" in the file extension rather than us having to do it.

When I put it on my thumb drive, Kapersky Anti-Virus popped-up with a window saying that a Trojan horse was in the Gnumeric folder!
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS FILE (yet)!!!

Thats so very true. I checked it with avg pro, norton, and clamwin to be safe and all tested positive meaning the file is safe

I may end up not providing GTKThemeSelect as a part of the release.
I will look when I get some more time at making it a PAF. Probably better off waiting until John releases his documentation etc. to make it thoroughly PAF.

This works for only for apps packaged the way they are here, you add .paf before .exe
It works fine for me.
That is just a quick band-aid fix.
Doesn't actually make it PAF compatible.

I have removed the themeselector for now and re-uploaded the new package. As and when John releases more on the PAF format along with utilities I will update this and the other packages I have done.
Possibly at that time I may look at re-introducing the themeselector into Gnumeric Portable.

Ryan don't forget Python still needs a bit of spring cleaning before a beta. After reading Johns post https://portableapps.com/node/4550 I am really looking forward to the coming weeks and getting some of my offerings PAFified!

Sorry it crash like the non portable version especially when print, the Linux version is much better, also the 70M installed size is too big for portable, I would rather go for Openoffice, but the good thing is, Gnumeric creates smaller size file, ie. 14K vs 21K Excel and 130K Openoffice save as Excel in my case !
