I've got an oldish computer which is short of RAM and slows down with a large page file.
I notice that firefoxportable.exe continues to run after it launches Firefox, and wondered what the consequences of killing it but leaving Firefox running were?
And maybe not having your profile updated.
Previously known as kAlug.
Killing FirefoxPortable.exe while Firefox is running will mean that anything you have done during that session (saved bookmarks etc.) will overwrite those of the local install, and the settings of the local install will not be reinstated after FFP is closed.
and in case there is no local firefox installed, personal profile thus personal data will be stored on local machine and not cleared. Thats all , but this is not desirable for a portable program in general.

Your profile is self-contained and maintained on your portable device. No personal information is placed on the local machine even temporarily.
If you kill FirefoxPortable.exe, you'll wind up with stuff left behind on the local machine which could indicate which extensions you have or possibly some personal information if Firefox itself were to crash.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
not the profile itself, just extension infos and such things,
