Release Notes
0.3 DT1 - August 29, 2011: Initial Release

Other Notes
In testing, it seemed like each during each run, the app created a new settings file. I think I've got them all, but I encourage you to run some more tests, mess with settings, take regshots, etc.

Tested . . .

I successfully tested AOR with Firefox Portable (6.01) & Chrome Portable (13.0.782.218 Stable).

EDIT: will this eventually become an official portable app?

testing difficult

well it does something, it does connect to TOR, but what the rest of the promises does?

No, I do not want make the portabilization any bad. It the actual app which makes me feel uncomfortable with.

So far I can not see how they can advertise that anything can be 'forced' to use the TOR. This iskind of doubtful, as to achieve something like this would need some low level software running and this would not be portable then. I think this is just trying to promise something, difficult to test, so nobody will complain so make fame of it.

I was little bit reading this and that report and beside all the similar texts on many download pages, you will find many texts as:

Like I said . . .

I tested Advanced Onion Router with the latest Portable Firefox & Chrome. You can verify that it is working by going to this link after you start the browsers:

yes sure

this is the first one can try , but it only say that you are connected to the tor network, not more.
What do your other services and programs do? How does your flash behave for example? Does it communicate via tor or otherwise?
Do other addons provide independent communication and how do they communicate?

This are just the basic questions, simple testing not so easy.

Problem is, that it allows people to use it on their standard browser installation, local or portable, making them believe that they are hiding their traffic, but they may still have dozens of additional things running which may operate at same time and bypass the tor connection.
It claims that it is able to 'force' other things to go via tor, but this is not so easy, testing of such feature rather complex, therefore it is more secure just to prevent such programs to operate during tor connection at all.

I currently use this to

I currently use this to update my skype, as the connection to skype servers are blocked, too.
This version is currently 0.3.0.1 while the latest version is 0.3.0.20

Can this be updated while the necessary changes to the platform for the fallback option is being worked on?
