Sorry I was/am not familiar with the way you need to help with portable apps. I was unaware there is so much red tap 
and am just some guy who is trying to help. Anyway I was told this original post was in an incorrect format and so I have updated it to the format wanted below - hopefully I will get there in the end. Please bear with me.

appinfo.ini:
I reccomend the following For PackageVersion:
PackageVersion: 1.0.8.611
DisplayVersion should be 1.0.9.6.1 Development Test 1
The change in package version ensures proper updating with the platform, and is the correct length for appinfo as required in the Format spec.
launcher.ini: should be same as the launcher: UltraVNCViewerPortable
As the registry is not used, remove the following lines:
[Activate]
Registry=false
Also, settings are saved in APPDATA, so the following should be added to your launcher:
[DirectoriesMove]
UltraVNC=%APPDATA%\UltraVNC
UltraVNC is an empty folder that should be placed in App\DefaultData, and will get automatically copied to Data on first run.

If someone comes to this thread and wants to test your DevTest of Ultra VNC Viewer Portable, they're going to just click the link in the Opening Post, not go looking through the comments to see if there's a newer link posted down there somewhere; thus you should edit the Opening Post so that there is a link to the most recent version there.
Also: The Opening Post should follow This Layout.

The Opening Post looks great, though to be entirely truthful, I don't thing using that layout is required, but in the end it makes it easier on everyone when there's a standard, so we try to get everyone to use it (thanks for doing so ☺).
P.S.: Now I should probably get a VNC server set up on one of my machines so that I can test this for you, but who really knows when I'll get around to it, so hopefully you get lots of other testers in the meantime.

Would be cool to know. Works ok for me so far
I pulled it down to give it a try, but without the DSMPlugins installed, I can't test it as all the machines at work are using encryption. I'm guessing I could just download them myself and drop them in the main directory, as the program should then pick them up, but I've not given that a try yet.
But its licensed separately and so I guess it cant be included with the portable app version legally.

Hi,
I have been using the portable apps version for a few weeks with no real problems. I just thought you might like to know.
I am not the best tester for you as I have not tried all options. I use UltraVNC on my various machines only on the local network. I am using this so that I can use it on a work machine while home without doing a real install, which they suppress.
I do not to the encryption plugins. For the 'default' way of using the application it seems to work just like the regular client.
I did purposely move to another machine to see if it remembered the target server. I only had one machine to try it on and that machine had the regular client on it. When I started the usb drive version it 'remembered' the one that was already on that machine, rather than one from the USB drive. For all I know this may be by design. It is no issue for me as my normal usage is only on the work machine that does not have the client. I didn't try to test portability of any other settings.

According to a snapshot dated June 28th, 2010, the encryption plugins are GPL, as seen here at the Internet Wayback Machine. Hopefully, that link worked. Otherwise, go to http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://msrc4plugin.home.comcast.net/ind... and select on of the snapshots. You can even download the plugins and the source from here. Hope this helps...

Somehow, I knew that once I posted something, I'd find something more. In UltraVNC's forums, I found this link. These plugins are active as of November 8th, 2010, and are licensed LGPL v2.1. There are both 32 and 64 bit versions as well as installation instructions and technical details. This page is the author of the plugins. Enjoy...
