I installed the new firefox 2 portable and so far everything works except the tooltips on the gmail manager extension. As far as I can tell it is just the tooltips for that extension that do not work. I am going to install and test the forecast fox extension to see if the tooltips work for that extension.
Is this a Firefox 2 problem, a firefox 2 portable problem, a gmail manager problem. or a combination?

Edit: I installed forecast fox and the tooltips for that extension are not working either. It looks like the tooltips for the status bar are not working in portable firefox 2. Can anyone else confirm this?

I would show you a screenshot, but when I hit ctrl+shift+p for Fastone Capture the tooltip goes away.

It might be an extension conflict. I doubt it is a portable issue. You might check your extensions or FF on www.mozillazine.org forums.

My print screen button requires an shift also.
As soon as I hover over to get a tool tip, then press any other button like alt,shift,ctrl the tool tip goes away.
The point is that mine works fine, just can't prove it.

Works for me...
Try installing in a clean install of Firefox Portable and see what happens...
I re-installed and loaded one add-on at a time. It worked. Then I moved to a new machine and it stopped working. Put the drive back in the original machine and it still didn't work.
Did a second re-install and it all seems to be working now. Even when I move from machine to machine.
Still trying to figure this one out.

It's a theme or an extension... it's just a matter of finding out which one (which is easier said than done).
If you'd like to test without moving PCs. Run FFP, add something in, close, then rename the FirefoxPortable directory to FirefoxPortable2... this has the same effect of moving PCs.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
