These are present while Skype Portable is running and cleaned up on exit. Unless you run skype.exe directly within Windows Explorer, by pinning it to the task bar/start menu or by associating files with it... in which case you're running Skype, not Skype Portable.

Annoying Skype popup message
I keep getting this VERY ANNOYING popup message from skype every few minutes that "the latest version of Skype updates is ready to install now". I don't recall ever getting this popup message before. I have been using portableskype since you introduced it usually update to the latest version you offer. I checked Tools/Options but don't see any option to ignore or suppress this message.

I confirm the same behaviour of Skype Portable. And the question is - how to avoid that? It does not updating itself in the portable folder. What's heppening?

Annoying Skype popup message
So anyone care to suggest how to stop this annoying message?
This would not be an issue for me if I was using the standard skype download but I have been using the skype portable download. If I proceed with the update, won't the downloaded program be treated is a standard app and not a portable app?

As far as I know, there is no way to stop this.
And yes, it would update/install the normal skype and not the portable version.
To update the portable version, it is best to use the updater built-into the platform/menu or just download the installer from https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/skype_portable
