I have been successfully using GnuCash 2.2.9 for a while and decided to upgrade to 2.4.5. Everything seemed to be running very well until I tried to download my transactions offline. It starts, I get the password prompt, certificate prompt, and then it sits until it times out.
I tried on at least 2 different machines but with no luck. I finally backed down to 2.2.9 and it is successfully working again.
Thoughts?

Did you run GnuCashPortable.exe as admin? Just right-click and do so in the PA.c Menu or in Windows Explorer.

I am running as local admin on all boxes that I tried it on. Since it works in the older version and not the newer version, I wouldn't think it is a security or rights issue. Also, it does make the attempt to connect to the bank since I get the security warning. I just don't get the transactions back from the bank.
I get that you're logged in as admin, but did you specifically right-click and select run as admin? This is required for proper functionality in the current version.

I did run as admin. Here is the window on simply getting a balance:

I can confirm that online banking is still not working correctly in the latest version. It absolutly has to be something with a DLL or code change. I can connect to the bank, get the certificate, but then nothing. Please see the other post where I posted my results.
If someone has suggestions, I'll be more than happy totroubleshoot. My gut feel is that it is a problem with the AqBanking modules or DLLS.
