I've been posting in the U3 forum, but maybe this should be here as this really is still in beta.
I posted a new update to my autolauncher, it replaces the launchpad on Sandisk U3 Drives with a launcher that will launch any app you choose when the drive is inserted.
Use it to launch PStart, etc. or the new PortableApps Menu with out any need for a prompt.

AutoLauncher4U3 Beta
New update to the autolauncher.
I added the additional options to launch PStart and PortableApps Menu.
Both are turned on by default so for a new install it should launch both without any configuration.
It will launch either if it finds them on the root of the drive.
New Update, lots of changes in this version.
Added a parameter to the autorun so you can open the settings screen just by double clicking on it.
Changed the ini file to autolauncher4u3.ini
PortableApps Menu will be launched from {usbdrive}\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu
PStart will be launched from {usbdrive}\Programs\Pstart (if they exists)
The custom menu settings still work the same.
Changed the ini file to an xml format.
Re-wrote the drive search routine, I think it works a little better now.
Known issues:
When opening the settings window, it will not read the current settings and will overwrite them when you save or launch with the new settings.

Just posted an update to the AutoLauncher.
1.1.0.2 changes the way msxml is called for better compatibility with systems that don't have up to date versions.
Also fixed an issue where on new installs it wasn't launching PStart or PortableApps Menu if they existed without first opening the settings window.

is it possible to add password protection on the drive like the one found on the u3launchpad?
You can use something like TrueCrypt but you have to have admin privileges.
For those who have fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.

i tried a different approach just now.
I tried to launch U3 launcher with your tool as well as portableapps. Doesnt really make sense but the U3 launcher didnt even load, it opened up a folder located in Application Data\U3\serial
You are the second person to report that happening.
Are you using the app launcher or the autolauncher?
Which file did you download?
How did you "install" it?
What OS are you using?
What U3 drive / Brand / Model do you have?

I have a Sandisk Cruzer 2gb in windows xp
Yea Im using the latest autolauncher for u3.
I installed it using the iso replacement method, I do not think that it was the program itself, when you manually double click the .exe, it opens that folder.
For now I just went back to the regular U3 launcher, and had it autoload Portable apps menu (but the directory structure is really messy) and maintain the password protection.
Thanks for the program and the support!
