Can you get the platform to start up as soon as you conect your portable hard drive? Or do you have to go and find it each time?

There is a handy autorun tool by John T. Haller that starts the platform as soon as you plug in your drive. The caveat is that it only works if you own the PC and can autostart the autorun tool.
Maybe there is an updated version but I cant find it atm.

I use that autorun tool, but it's badly in need of an update/tweak. For one thing, it looks for an executable named "StartPortableApps.exe" to launch the PortableApps platform; in the last several builds, the executable has been named "Start.exe" instead. (But I've found the autorun tool will work if you rename "Start.exe" to "StartPortableApps.exe".)
I'm not sure what the best way is to get word to John T. Haller to ask about an update, tho'. Anyone know?
The auto-run feature has recently been disabled by Microsoft, (for security reasons) on the OS's from Windows XP.
This question has been asked a number of times, and this thread has some info about the topic and possible solutions https://portableapps.com/node/29397
