Firefox Portable 7.0.1 doesn't save settings

Hi,

When I close Firefox, it doesn't save some settings.
For example: I have disabled all cookies, but in some cases I need of them, like when I do login in a forum, so I've created some exceptions (Option tab> Privacy) for selected sites.
I would also like to allow pop-ups from certain sites, so I've created others exceptions (Option tab> Contents) for that.

Everything works fine, but if I close Firefox I lose the lists of exceptions.
How can I fix it?

I would also like to understand where the bookmark is saved, because if I go in
E:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile
I find something that doesn't match the real bookmark, which is much larger (10 KB against 371 KB) and has different links.

Did you happen to set Firefox as your default browser or associate it with HTML, HTTP, etc on the computer? If so, you're not using Firefox Portable, you're using the copy of Firefox inside Firefox Portable as a local Firefox version with all your settings and bookmarks saved to the local PC.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

I'll tell you more: the situation doesn't change if I set IE as default browser.
In addition, settings of SM are different from those of FF-Portable.

But it's true (I see this from windows task manager) when I launch FF-Portable, also starts firefox.exe.

I tried to rename firefox.exe in firefox.ecse, but doesn't work...

It should start firefox.exe

All portable apps here run the base app (in this case firefox.exe), but also run another app called AppNamePortable.exe (in this case FireFoxPortable.exe), which handles the portability side of things.

I understand that, but how do I fix the problem I mentioned?
There are conflicts between Firefox Portable and any kind of Mozilla product?

Edit: I noticed the same problem with Firefox in Ubuntu, so not a portable version, but installed.
At this point I think it's a bug of Firefox (which by the way is now called "Web Browser" by Canonical).

ehm

This thread is very old, but maybe my answer can be helpful to someone.

To maintain settings about exceptions for cookies and popups, you have to uncheck the box "Preferences of Web sites" in Tools/Options/Privacy/Clear history when I close Firefox.

I'm sorry, but I realized that recently... ó.ò
