Google Chrome does not install extensions

I have several copies of Chrome 15 on different drives and none of them install extensions. They download fine but at the bottom when it shows Installing ????.crx it just hangs there.

It does not make nay difference which extension it is, same issue. Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix for it.

Thanks

Known Issues

There are known issues within Chrome and installing extensions. It will not work on a mapped network drive or a drive mapped to a folder, for example. It will not work if you don't have a TEMP directory defined. Sometimes it won't work for other reasons that affect both local and portable. This seems primarily due to the fact that Chrome is not a self-contained application. It uses the Windows components to accomplish quite a few things (proxy handling, security encryption, etc). If neither of the above examples explain it, have you tried installing the local version to see if that works on this particular machine?

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

RE: Known Issues

Thanks for the reply John. The local version work fine on these machines. The odd thing is this was working until version 10 I believe and then just stopped. Can you expand on the TEMP directory.

By the way, great work you are doing here. I have been using for years now and hope the project continues as I think at this point I would be lost without them..
