i was just wondering what the default font on the portableapps.com platform was?
It depends on the operating system. It should be Tahoma on Windows 2000/XP and Wine and Segue UI on Windows Vista/7.

I was wondering that as well, as right around the times that I saw the note up top about the flags for new records a few days ago, my font for this website changed.

The website has been (or still is being) upgraded, that is what you have noticed.
