ABOUT AUTORUN.INF

hello guys im new here .. and im just wondering, why always my antivirus detect the AUTORUN.INF ?? but it is from the PORTABLE APPLICATION. my antivirus is AVIRA . . any can help my problem ASAP??

That file is used to set a drive name and icon, but can also be used to (legitimately or maliciously) automatically run a program upon drive's insertion. However, this last feature got disabled on Vista SP1 and 7.

If you have installed the Microsoft update to disable the autorun feature in WinXP (it was integrated in the automatic update some months ago), you could safely disable the option to block the autorun.inf in aviras settings (you possibly have to enable expert settings for that). It is a leftover from the times where autorun was still enabled and seems to stay there since you could override the microsoft autoupdate and therefore leave autorun enabled (unrecommended).
