The IronPortable Application ignores the disk-cache-size setting - this is especially problemtic as it invades your privacy - erasing the disk cache after a session is not a good solution, as these files usually can easily be unerased if you do not use a special eraser app. So it would be best to make IronPortable obey to disk-cache-size=0 setting.
I am calling the app like this:
IronPortable.exe --purge-memory-button --memory-model=low --disk-cache-size=0 --media-cache-size=0
disk cache is definitely still growing to an unlimited amount as it seems, so it is not only endangering your privacy but also eating up your disk space and reducing your portable media life by millions of unneccessary write cycles.
If ironportable.exe is just ignoring the parameters listed above and there is another way to get disk-cache-size=0 and media-cache-size=0 - please tell me!
If this is a bug, it should be fixed ASAP - as iron is advertised as an "privacy aware" fork of chrome it should apply to requirements for privacy aware browsers and not write to a disk cache, if the user does not want it to - not only in special browsing modes, but never ever, if set so. As I know FirefoxPortable does not use a disk cache (did not check myself, just read about this in another thread here) - I think it would be a good default for a portable browser to not use a disk cache at all and iron should behave the same way!
This btw also applies to the IronPortable.exe offered for download at the developers website at http://www.srware.net/downloads/IronPortable.zip - I also posted this Bug report to the forum there but it still did not yet pass the censorship department, maybe it will be there tomorrow...
Thank you very much for your attention,

but if it writes to disk cache then how is it portable?

that there should be no changes needed in PA version as disk cache I am sure has been addressed. I may be wrong but it sounds like he is trying to add extra paramaters to do what it is already doing with the PA format and program.
So My real question is this is PA format of Iron writing to disk cache?
Is it removing it?
What is the exact question or problem that you are having?
Why is he trying to add additional parameters?
How is he doing so?
