Thunderbird 8.0 not so portable. <solved - PEBKAC error>

Interesting one - I moved my PortableApps from my network share on to my hard drive, and while it's the HD version of the Thunderbird app that gets updated and the profile directory on the HD is being updated with account changes, it's the original mail directories back on the network share that are being updated with the mail. I checked the [ProfD] setting through the error console, and it points to the HD profile. Everything I can find in the Thunderbird UI points to the hard drive, damned if I can find the link between the profile on the HD and the original mail files on the share. Any ideas?

Shows that the folders should

Shows that the folders should be on the hard drive, but the ones being updated are still the ones on the original network share.

As I said, the profile directory on the HD is being maintained, but the mail (and the other directories under profile) are all being maintained on the network share - which is NOT what should be happening.

-profile "path"

Check the properties of the icon you are using to start the ThunderbirdPortable.

Doh!

Doh! Doh! Doh!

I ended up with a third copy (config error with syncron) and the version that was being synchronised between the PC and the fileshare wasn't the current one. I spent an hour trying to work out why I couldn't see any mail from August onwards from the network version or by going to the Thunderbird app directly, and eventually found the shortcut to 'start' was to a slightly different directory location, and there was my complete portable apps setup, all up to date.

I feel like such an idiot...
