Sync Portable Apps.

Hi!

I was looking for a way to sync my entire portableapps drive with a central server.

So I could play around on 1 drive, sync any new/changed files and settings up to the server, and sync it down to my second drive when I want to use it. Works good for backups too.

So, any portable way to do this? With a windows server to hold the backup/sync data?

Pretty much what I want to do is something like the Dropbox portable that doesnt exist, but rather than full auto, it syncs when I click the button.

Check the apps list

There are several official apps that can sync. Synkron, Dsychronize and Toucan come to mind.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.

Synkron is nice

I currently use Synkron for this purpose and it works fine. I like the options Toucan is offering, but the newest beta releases haven't been working for me yet. I'm waiting for the official release to see if it is worth to switch.

BTW: if you designate the folder on your USB with a relative path: "../../../../Documents/etc./" then you will not have to deal with switching the drive letters for your USB each time you plug it in somewhere.
