I was wondering if it were possible to have an option for PA to alert the user that a USB is still plugged in.
Very similar to the portable version of this http://www.usbalert.nl/usbalert/ but instead of it beeping very loudly and long, just have a notification that says it is still plugged in and have an option to eject or continue shutdown.
This would be a great feature for people who forget USBs as I have lost a USB that cost $50 and was very angry at myself.

But what if you forget to logoff or shutdown? Or it's not an option?
If you connect your USB stick to your car keys or ID card you won't get far without your USB stick.

What if you don't have car keys or ID card to connect it to? I don't want a long lanyard and everything here doesn't have to cater for everybody. It is just for those people who want this, as I said, it should be an option. And I have never heard of a computer not allowing you to shutdown or logoff.
when I have portable apps running, I forget the specifics, but something does popup to me.

Do you have Windows XP because that's what I have and nothing pops-up for me. Or have you got some other program?
tells me that I have processes running, so it may be different for winXP.
