Request and Question (long post)

First:
I want to request portable versions of YPops and Hotmail Popper. While both programs work easily on a thumb drive I have to setup network settings on first use in a new pc so they don't conflict with each other, I was hoping to engrained my network setup into the programs.
I need to change the port numbers of both programs so they don't conflict with each other. I use them with portable thunderbird so I can get my yahoo and hotmail emails directly. I just need to be able to save the network settings for both directly on the thumb drive.

Hope that made sense...

Second:
I Use PStart for my "start menu" Is there A way that I can make an open ended shortcut to the program so that whatever drive gets automatically assigned to the thumbdrive it will recognize the drive and find the folder?

meaning, if It gives the drive a Q drive letter it will recognize the same as if the system gives it a D drive letter?
kinda like a %system% shortcut?

Use the webmail extension

A better option is to just use the webmail extension with Portable Thunderbird. It integrates right in and will work on any computer you plug it into... no reconfiguration or need to launch a seperate program.

As for the Drive letter....

Unfortunately, the way that windows controls the drive letters for usb drives on first plugin there is no System variable for this. So unfortunately you would have to create a new shortcut, or change an existing shortcut on each new machine.

You can make open ended shortcuts. just replace the drive letter (in the properties menu) with %root% works like a charm!

I would love to see a screen shot of the properties for your open-ended shortcut. I cannot make any shortcut use %root% for my usb.

I could be wrong, I have been wrong, but could you post a screen shot of this? You can use www.imageknockout.com to host it for you. it is free and no sign up needed.

as i am only on my cell phone right now i won't be able to give you a screenshot Sad the properties are for a regular windows shortcut (so i may have posted about the wrong thing ) in order to get a pstart shortcut to work you first install pstart on your drive then just create a shortcut and delete the drive letter (it should automatically do this) hope it works Smile
