Tor VS Tails

How does Tails 0.10 on USB compare to Tor on USB?
Ups and downs of booth? Is regular portable Tor still better?

Thanks and Happy New Year.

Tails best

Tails is still the best solution as it prevents the user to do with tor things he is not supposed to do.

But you need to boot from that device and this is not always possible as many 'public' computers can not be made to boot from just some external device.

For that you get then tor browser bundle which exists for various operating systems and have it on your portable device and can run it from there. It preconfigured in such way that you can not do any mistake and make it therefore unsecure.

Any other separate Tor configuration is not very wise at the moment, as most programs people would like to work with tor are simply made so that they are still able very easy to bypass the tor circuit and therefor any such install is not recommended if you care about the security of the set up.

Tor vs Tails

Thanks. So to recap, if I boot from portable device with administrator privileges than Tails is better than Tor.
If I don't have administrator privileges Tor remains the only only option.

If I understand correct. You are saying that the Tor Browser Bundle is also completely secure as long as you use it for browsing only.

Wow, tails file is big, 619 MB?

Whatever is good, is not bad.

Importand

Disable Javascript (in tor Browser and Tails) to be "completely secure".

The Tails and Tor team let it activated for "usability", but in my opinion its agains usability if you have to do finetunig to turn your broser realy secure.

Sry for necro but this is still importand and others could read here and get wrong informations.
