Reset your installation

Go inside GoogleChromePortable\Data and delete everything inside it and try running Google Chrome Portable again, and see if it saves your settings then.

And why is this being posted

And why is this being posted on the Firefox Portable forum area (https://portableapps.com/forums/support/firefox_portable) and not on the Other Apps Support forum area (https://portableapps.com/forums/support/other_apps)?

And because Other Apps is not

And because Other Apps is not a reasonable place for Chrome, which deserves its own forum but at least there are browser people here while Other Apps appears to be perused mostly by nobody.

That's no big deal as many

That's no big deal as many frequent users use the tracker anyway. So if anyone has a solution he most probably will answer. No need to put questions in the wrong forum (apart from mistake).
As chrome portable seems to have many users (and therefore many questions) an own subforum could be useful but afair John decided against it to keep the number of subforums at bay. Don't know if some restructuring will be done once the drupal update is implemented.
