Quite a few problems for me, (1) I did a new fresh install of Songbird 1.10.1 last night, when it was installing it said there was a new stability and compatibility version available 1.10.2 I think, of course I said no, but if I said okay, would it have installed a local version ?, I do not have a local version. (2) After it finally got through the initial install routine, I turn off all access and other checking, tracking apps and 3rd party cookies and things, remove all the allows from different sections it automatically puts in, usually 7digitalmusic add-on. And my cache is 50 MB or so, that should be noted on the main site some where, it's not really a 15MB download/ 57 Installed, it's 93.5 Installed, and when you tell clear the cache a few come instantly back, what is the cache using/doing ? how do I stop it from caching everything and it's long lost cousins too ? (3) also upon installing it asked me whether or not I wanted it to monitor 1 of my usb devices it found, I said no, but did not ask me about the other 2 it also found it just went ahead and loaded them in the task bar I had to right click and turn them off. (4) Holy cow, this thing is slower than all get out, the install process took me about 20 minutes or more, then after that and all my going through the program as mentioned I shut down and restarted it still took a few 2,3 or 4 minutes to finally get going, and when you click anything it lags. I went searching and it seems this program from the get go has always been this way, maybe they should start completely over or something, and get this engine sped up a bit. I'm sure I forgot something but dang that is a lot already. I'm going to make sure it has a don't check for updates thing, but I don't think it does for the program does it ? only for add-ons. I did read do a, about:config app.update, setr it to false, which would solve the issue of the initial install check for update problem, but we can't do this I guess.
I used Songbird for a couple of days.
While there were a few features I liked, it was far too slow with the size media library I had.
I have since switched to MediaMonkey, and haven't turned back (for music library functionality anyway. The recently introduced video functionality I tried, but have switched back to other apps for video).
Yeah maybe once it is out of Dev stages.
