10.0.1.0 Menu and App Quirks

Okay, I just decided to go from 1.6.1 to 10.0.1.0. I renamed my install then installed just the platform/menu, then cut and pasted my apps minus the PA.com folder and the newer files included of course, plus cut and pasted docs and pics and stuff. So, I set up menu up to be categorized and I see a couple quirks and maybe have a question/suggestion or 2. First I notice that it reads Firefox as Mozilla but all the other apps read just like the their folder name. Second, I noticed in the "Other" category it has "FreeCommander 2009" Which of course is a Utility, Easily moved to the right category thanks to the Awesome menu, For information purposes, The mouse hover says 2009.02b, appinfo.ini says PackageVersion=2009.2.0.417, DisplayVersion=2009.02b. Also in "Other" was "Quick Solitaire", I have other "Quick" games that are placed in the Games Category proper. It is Quick Solitaire 3.2.6, Also easily moved. I also use 2 apps that are not of PA format Ccleaner and Recuva, they are put in the "Other" folder, they work perfectly, it shows the icons etc, I guess a mouse hover information is in an .ini so it don't read the Publisher and version, no big deal, but recuva is in there twice, one has the icon the other is blank, also easily fixed with the Great PA Menu option "hide", mouse hover shows the same info which is just the directory. I'm sure it is just a simple appinfo.ini, which goes back to the PA Platform or Format. Now on the other hand, it sees "Big Solitaires 3D" as a Utility, V 1.4. Hmm I lost my place, I think that is all I wanted to say other than, can we make our own Folders for the menu ? I know it is hard to categorize some of these and it would lead to maybe 100 different ones. For the record, GREAT Freakin Menu/Platform design, over my 1.6.1, I am still using Winxp and USB 1.1, I have so many kids, so little money.

A lot of this

has been addressed elsewhere, most miss categorizations (Lime my Quick program) are due to incorrect appinfo.ini file (think I wrote game instead of games or something stupid like that) John has discussed a 10.2 that may take care of these typos as not much sense to revise or update app that is otherwise ok?

Yeah, thought so.

I could edit the appinfo my self, but by the same token right click and move it to a category works. But, On the other hand a typO' is to me if I were a maker/programmer would be something I would want to fix. Also can't adjust the size of the Menu in any way shape or form using mouse to resize, sides, top or bottom.

But

Does it make sense to use all the bandwidth to release a revision for a working app tha tis miscatergorized?

I'm a Perfectionsist I guess

I would want it to be "correct", if I am the creator/publisher/user, as a user it makes me wonder what other "simple" things could be fixed.

Ah maybe.

I tried clicking in the menu, does nothing, Tried clicking a folder that right and left click do the same thing. Haven't followed through with your way but at first glance looks good, Thanks. Now if I can resize the darn thing...

App

Right-click on an app in the menu. Then you can select Category and then pick an existing category or a new one.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

As John and I said, you have

As John and I said, you have to right click the app itself.

The platform list isn't like a standard OS window, you won't get anything by clicking the space behind the items, or by clicking the folders themselves (at least, not yet).

not sure about

The reason for this reply, nor Johns for that matter really. You did cover it at February 16, 2012 - 10:23pm, I said Thank you at February 16, 2012 - 11:02pm. John may have just been being a little more step by step for me the noob I guess. Now then can we resize the menu ?

Hopefully in the next release

Then, it sort of sucks not being able to resize in some form, whether it be simply in the middle between the app/appfolders on the left and the menu things on the right, or on the sides or top to bottom or the old diagonal.
