Donload error updating via PA Updater
Thought I'd let you know, I'm getting an error trying to update this via PorableApps platform updater.
The error message is,
Download Error: Redirection (302) on file
Works Here
I just tried it and it works fine here. Are you behind a firewall of some kind? Are you able to download it in your browser from the app's homepage?
would Windows XP Home (SP3) firewall do that?
I have got the same error now on two computers, both which are running Window XP Home SP3 and are using the Windows firewall.
One computer is using Avast! Free for antivirus and the the other is using AVG Free - both are up-to-date version wise.
I was able to download the .paf file fine on one computer and can't get to the other computer at the moment to test it.
I have got access to another computer that has XP Pro (SP3) on it, I'll put an older version on it and see how the updater goes with that machine.
same error
ok, the XP Pro (SP3) machine (with Outpost Security Suite Pro 7.5 as it's firewall) give the same error.
Could the problem be with the ISP? Two of the computers share the same internet connection and all are with the one ISP.
or perhaps ... maybe these computers are having problems with the site(mirror?) they are trying to download from?
the error message has the following web address in it
"http://downloads.sourceforge.net/porableapps/CrystalDiskMarkPortable_3.0..."
I can confirm this issue, and
I can confirm this issue, and it looks like it is a mirror/location based error.
Grantwhy and myself are both in Australia and I have observed the following downloading directly:
Not reproduced in Melbourne
I've only tried via a browser, but from there it's not behaving as you say for me but is behaving as it normally does. Can't test from Platform at present.
May be more network or ISP
May be more network or ISP based then.
Not sure which ISP my work is with (definitely not Telstra), but I know at home I am on Exetel via the Optus network, and I had the same issue from home the other day, but did not have time/forgot to report the issue.
Re-Uploaded
I reuploaded it 10 minutes ago. So it should, in theory, force a mirror update to the problematic Australian download mirror within another 10 minutes or so.
Thanks
Thank you
Fixed now
Thanks for that, John.
