I need more details

Is that a message your getting from your virus program or the installer or the launcher? Or is WebShot running fine but when you try to save something in WebShot, it doesn't work?

Launcher

That was just running the launcher. No antivirus enabled.

Looks like it somehow got corrupted

Try re-installing WebShot Portable in a different folder to see if that works.

I mean it doesn't matter

I mean it doesn't matter where I install it, it's the same error.

Re-download

Perhaps your installer is corrupted. Try redownloading, and reinstalling it again. I can download, install, and run WebShot Portable perfectly on my end.

Ugh

What about the launcher?
My MD5 is the same for the installer, and the launcher is 61f5bb7ddf394481724cbee34b2fd6de

Same

61f5bb7ddf394481724cbee34b2fd6de too =/
I tried redownloading with the same result and MD5s too, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Screenshot and confirmation?

Can you post a screenshot of the error message?

And can anyone else confirm this issue?

screenshot+update

I can but it wont offer anything more than the copy-paste of the message I've already posted.

I do have an update on the situation though. I just transferred it to anther computer and it worked. The exact same folder and files. The only difference between the two that jumps out at me is that this one (that is failing on) is 64bit, and the other is 32 bit.

It's odd to me the error is file renamed though when the exact same files work on another machine.

Strange

I bundled a copy of the 64 bit version of WebShot into the package. If your not worried about one registry key being added to your PC, could you try going into WebShotPortable\App\webshot and opening webshot64.exe?

And if that doesn't work, could you delete webshot.exe and rename webshot64.exe to webshot.exe and see if it works then?

I just renamed the 32-bit one, to something other than webshot.exe and got the same error, so I'm thinking that's the problem your getting (which is strange since the author named it webshot64.exe in his own release.

it's not your fault!

I just installed the webshot program from the dev website, and the program is 32bit when run. I then ran the 64bit exe and got the same error!

Edit: I just took your portable version and put everything back the way it was. This time deleting the 64bit exe. And running the launcher it launches the 32bit version perfectly.

I think this will work now on 64 bit computers with the 64 bit version now.

Thanks for the work, I'm glad

Thanks for the work, I'm glad we got it working ok. As it's only a run-once type tool 32bit bit only isn't the end of the world. I hope the publisher fixes the issue in the future.

At least, as you say, you can not worry about it any more. If the publisher does get back in contact with you and you'd like further testing just give me a msg/reply.
