I'm having no luck sending emails using Thunderbird portable using my OPeramail account. Does anyone know the correct smtpx settings?
I've tried port 25 and alternative 587 . . . no joy.
I connect to the server okay then get
"The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: Cannot connect to SMTP server 205.158.62.125 (205.158.62.125:25), connect error 10060."
Any ideas?

They'd be the ones to tell you the correct settings. I doubt anyone here uses the service. Heck, it may only support Opera as a mail client.

Thanks for replying so swiftly. Operamail is well supported. I have imported it into Outlook Express and Outlook without any difficulty. I think OPeramail must be one of the best kept secrets on the www. I've been using them for years and have never, ever, been plagued with spam.
I've sent my error message to their support people and have had an acknowledgment. If I get it resolved I'll post the answer back here for the benefit of other users.
Well, not really. I can confirm my smtpx problem was down to Internet censorship in Tunisia. Back in the UK Portable TBird sends and receives just fine.
