Moving after formatting causes problems

Hey,

I have been using FF Portable for years, really. I find it cool, until yesterday.

I run a quick format of my disk every, lets say, 6 months. Everytime I just copy FirefoxPortable folder, and everything works fine.

Not this time. I have installed flash, java, silverlight and firefox does not 'operate' on some sites. For instance it looks like that on most forums:

link: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/nak93 (see, something with coding is wrong) but not only:

i have been trying opening it as an administrator, and many more, nothing works. I was willing to post it using Firefox Portable, but this page opens almost blank for me, and menus and items pop up when i move mouse cursor on them, so I am now on Chrome.

help me please. thanks in advance

what for?

just curious: why do you format it ? just for fun? Or some special reason?
Quick format does just remove the file table and nothing else, so what is this operation needed for?

After moved firefox back and forth, did you go to addons and refresh (upadte) all addons, as many of them can be kind of broken or marked as outdated or disabled after a move?

Damn, I meant not exactly

Damn, I meant not exactly 'quick format' option, but just I have a quick format, which takes me around 30 mins with reinstalling all.

Sorry.

Yeah I have checked addons compatibility. Everything is fine.

BTW. First time I turned it as administrator, it worked.

still not understand

still can not exactly understand what you do with quick format, if you delete the file table and the reinstall all programs or what exactly and why.

Just install all, do not move the programs from one place to other and they will work just fine.

Moving programs as firefox, which have many addons is always kind of problematic, as addons seem not to be programmed perfect, they were meant to be used on local installed version after all.

There is no real need for quick format the drive, it does nothing but remove both copies of file allocation table, nothing more so I do not see any advantage in doing so on some regular base.
