I'll take a look

In the mean time, I'm not sure if you're aware, but I got something similar called GTD-Free Portable up in the beta forums.

EDIT: Looks pretty easy; one folder, and one file to take care of is it. I'm concerned about the (BSD 3-Clause) license agreement, however, particularly the third bullet:

Neither the name of TaskUnifier or the names of its contributors may be used to endorse or promote products derived from this software without specific prior written permission.

@John, will that be an issue? I'm not aware of any of our apps that are BSD 3-clause.

I looked at that

I already took a cursory look at GTD-Free. It caused multiple Avast & Comodo FW warnings when I launched it. Also looking at system directory/file tab (don't remember exact name under About), it was set to save data in the logged-on user profile. I could be wrong since I didn't actually save anything & your launcher may clean up afterwards. The biggie is it doesn't look as fully-featured as TaskUnifier & also lacks the ability to sync to Toodledo (a key point for me). The sync/publishing plug-ins should all work without buying a license; they just have a built-in delay & you're not even required to use them.

As for the BSD license, I'd almost bet that the dev would a) give his permission & b) might even be willing to come on board PAc if asked. I haven't asked him myself since I didn't want to get in the middle!

Yeah

it was set to save data in the logged-on user profile

Yeah, that's hard-coded into GTD-Free. There's no way around it, nor any settings file I can modify to change where it's default location to save is.

As for the BSD3, I was hoping John would reply, but I guess I can ask the devs (I doubt they'd say no anyway).

EDIT: Just sent the developer an email about the possible issue.

Any word?

Not to be impatient but I'm curious if you've gotten a response from the dev yet. You also might want to play around with TaskUnifier - you may find you like it better than GTD-Free!

Wow

Pyro, you so rock! I only wish I'd known about it sooner so I could have been testing it for more than the last couple days. I think I'm done here & will make the rest of my comments on your new dev test thread...

Thanks again!

GPL?

According to their SF project, they are GPL.

The name of it would be similar to a trademark, you need permission for it.

In the Files section

...there's licence.txt [sic] in the root that says they're BSD 3-clause.

Sic?

That's not a mistake. It's only American which spells licence (the noun) as license. In England and Australia at least, it is still as it was for a long, long time; the noun is spelled as licence.

We Won

Yeah, but we won. It's licence (263 million) to license (1,900 million) in Google results. So licence gets a [sic]. Blum

Invalid comparison

The word "license" exists as a verb in the English Pure, and so your comparison is rendered invalid.
