No apps preinstalled

The current versions don't include any preloaded apps. You can get them by clicking Manage Apps → Get More Apps in the Platform.

Previously known as kAlug.

Adding Apps, Removing urDrive

First, it's recommended you remove urDrive. It's not well supported, doesn't support any true portable apps, won't work without you giving away your email address, and is generally only for installing local software (most of which is commercial). It's just cluttering your drive. The only thing it offers is a built-in semi-portable web browser based on Maxthon. You can obtain Maxthon Portable from us which works even better.

Second, after installing the PortableApps.com Platform to the root, you're presented with an empty menu. This is so you can build your own suite with exactly what you need. There's a built in app-store that lets you do that just by clicking on Manage Apps and then Get More Apps.

hmm

lol, in the preview i saw they listed portableapps applications in the download list. Gimp Portable was the app I saw listed.

edit: just rewatched the video. Kingston claimed you can search for new apps in their app zone and gimp portable was listed in their preview. However when I started urdrive, I wasn't able to see any of the stuff they claimed to offer. And the apps I did see were pay apps. Not free like they claimed

Unsupported

Kingston's urDrive is not a portable software solution. It's just a basic advertising service for some locally installed software. No real portable software works with it.

You can delete urDrive from your drive and install the PortableApps.com Platform to your drive and get access to hundreds of free apps.

I know it isn't. I just found

I know it isn't. I just found it funny in their little introduction video for urdrive, kingston showed gimp portable when they advertised their app zone. Yet in the real thing, they took it off.
