Google Chrome Portable - how to set up offline installer?

*I know from other posts that PA can't give out offline installers for legal reasons, so I'm not asking for that.*

However, what would be a good way to set up the Chrome installer so that it doesn't need to go online?

Uhh...

Interesting idea, but Chrome is designed to be online which assumes a current internet connection and since Chrome automatically updates itself in the background, there's no advantage to installing an older version. At first use, it will go online and download the update. Why not just do the current version immediately?

Chrome Portable

I'm talking about the Portable version that's used here, not the non-portable one that's provided by Google. That should be obvious, and also, from what I heard, Chrome just downloads the difference (I might be wrong), while Chrome Portable needs to download the whole file.

Download It Yourself

Searching for Chrome offline results on this; basically, you need to download http://dl.google.com/chrome/install/<X>.<Y>/chrome_installer.exe to chrome_installer<type>.exe, where X and Y are the last two numbers of Google Chrome's version, and type is blank for the stable channel, _beta for the beta channel, and _dev for the dev channel. Put the file in the same directory as the Chrome Portable's installer.

I checked that already

The comment didn't help me much, and I didn't think about using the last two numbers. Thanks for clearing that up.
