not able to login on some conenctions

On some internet connections, I have problems to login on this site.

One is kind of 'open free internet' we have at work and then also some public hotspots etc.
On the connections where it is not possible to log in, some traffic can be observed, I am also receiving a cookie, but the authetication fails.

This is the only site in fact that fails completely. I have also one webmail site which uses cookies for some intrusion detection, but they have means to switch the cookie off and authenticate without it.

Here it seems not to be possible. Cookie is received, but it kind of looks like the authentication process times out or so.

I have tested number of other forum sites and webmails etc, no problem elsewhere.

Is there some very special mechanism used here which does prevent log in on some slightly slower connection?

Network Settings

The most likely factor that is causing this issue is the fact that the network you are on is blocking the connection to the site. Yes, you might be able to access the site itself however most likely the network administrator made it so specific parts of the site can not be accessed. If you are on a school network, talk to your IT advisory about getting the site unblocked. Other than that the only other reason you might not be able to log in using your computer if your on your home network is because something is wrong with your web browser or that the page is down or something along those lines.

Try re-installing your web browser after you delete all its data, and see if that fixes the problem.

this was soved in fact.

The guy who set up the cisco managed switch did not RTFM and did only look at the first two tabs in the set up interface....
