I was seriously about to post Kiwix Portable right now. Then I checked the recent posts and I saw this.

Okay

I thought you were referring to the Doggonit! line (whatever it means).

Kiwix on 64-bit laptop

Kiwix always worked very well on my 32-bit laptop, Windows XP. Now I try to install Kiwix on a 64-bit laptop, Windows 7 Pro. When I want to download the Spanish, English and Dutch parts the laptop comes to standstill. If I close Kiwix and re-open it, it says I can't open Kiwix because it's still running, but I can't see it!
What goes wrong? And even more important, who can help to fix it? Thanks.

Testing feedback

The portable app does not work for me on WinXP32. But the problem seems to be trivial. The aria2c.exe file seems to be corrupted, it's impossible to launch it at all. This file should be equal to http://download.kiwix.org/dev/aria2c.exe. I have removed the corruped binary and replaced it with the one available online and everything seems to works fine.

64-bit

I suppose I've bundled the 64-bit version when I updated the copy of aria2c (yours is a bit outdated). I'll upload a fixed release in a few days.

Thank you for the new test release. The aria2 problem is fixed. It works perfectly for me.

POTM

Kiwix is SourceForge's Project of the Month; I suggest taking a look at Emmanuel's last answer.

Wikipedia on USB

I've installed kiwix on my computer, downloaded a *.zim file and have indexed the file.

I've also downloaded kiwix-0.9-rc2-win.zip. Is it possible to have the program files as well as the *.zim file and index on a memory stick?
Thanks

Win
