Typically I want to open more than one program. At present the menu closes to the task bar and I have to click the running apps bottom right again (what used to be the system tray.
It would be more helpful if there was an option whereby the menu stayed open until the mouse is no longer over the menu area.
I think maybe that is how it used to work.

Set it to remain visible. Then you control when it goes away using the icon or the CTRL-ALT-SPACE hotkey. The option doesn't show up under advanced options yet but is supported by editing the INI when the platform is closed:

As with the Windows start menu (and all Windows menu), the PA.c Menu hides as soon as you click on something. A much older version used to take longer to hide.

Thanks but that's not quite the enhancement I was suggesting. I like the fade away bit but only when I move the mouse away.
