As far as I can tell, UMPlayer is dead. I even had contacted the project last year, and we were working on it, but one day they simply stopped replying to me (and everyone else).

There seems to be a rather new version of the program availible for downoad.
I don't see it. Unless they moved to somewhere else.

The last release was 9 months ago, so it could just be on hiatus. PAL was last updated 7 months ago, and it certainly isn't dead.

I don't want to sound ungratefull or impatient, you guys are doing a wondefull job here on PortableApps.com.
I was just wondering if you guys have any idea when PAL 11 will come out?
All the posts about (for example)"the first character bug in the search box" are answered with: "will be fixed shortly" or something like that.
I was just wondering what is "shortly"...
I'm only asking, whether you answer is up to you to decide
Yes, I set the working directory!
That's not PAL. PAL is the PortableApps.com Launcher which is used to make software portable. You're talking about the PortableApps.com Platform and it will be done as soon as it is done. The first character issue requires an entire reworking of the search system to work properly with both ANSI and Unicode characters. If we were to do a quick fix, it would be to remove find as you type and require you to hit / to start a search (Firefox style), which you can do right now as the recommended workaround.

Sorry for the mistake, you're right, I meant the platform, not the launcher, my bad.
Thanks for the clarification, I didn't know that there had to be a complete reworking of the search system...
