It is nice how quickly the new version of VLC opens ... but when I try and open and audio CD (Media/Open Disc.../Audio CD) I find that the program just shuts down without a peep. If I persist I sometimes succeed in getting it not to shut down, but then the CD tracks are not listed.
Am going back to 1.1.9 for now.

I do have the same problem. running the vlc from a usb stick it crashes after a view seconds without doing anything... I am running vls on a vista os.
