I get the following error message listed below:
"The exception unknown software exception (0x0eefade) occurred in the application of locateion 0x7c59b3f."
Also, get this error message:
“Exception EOSError in module PortableAppsMenu.exe at 0000DA65.
System Error. Code 87.
The parameter is incorrect.”
Please advise further how to resolve this issue.
Chris
Try this patch:
https://portableapps.com/downloads/testing/PortableAppsMenu1.0.1.2/Porta...
It should work... This is the newest version of the menu, including a couple of other fixes as well as the issue of running on pre-xp systems.
Can you give me instructions for what to from start to finish regarding this new IeAppsMenu.exe application?
Will this run on all systems including Windows XP SP2
Want to get it right the first time.
Thanks.
leAppsMenu is just the truncated form of PortableAppsMenu that the forum cut it down to!
Basically, just save that file linked above on top of the old version in %Drive%\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu
So I copied it into F:\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu for example.
That's it. All of the applications on this site allow upgrading by just installing on top of the old versions, which makes things nice and easy!
The StartPortableApps.exe on the root of your drive doesn't need to be changed, as it is just a glorified shortcut to the menu application.
Good Luck!

My StartPortableApps in the main Root Drive as Autorun.inf, Portableapps folder and Documents folder...should I replace the StartPortableApps.exe with PortableAppsMenu.exe.
The reason I ask is that I have already added Apps last nite thru StartPortableApps so do I have to re-add them when I use PortableAppsMenu.exe.
Thanks for the help.
No, don't replace StartPortableApps...
All you have to do is download the newer version above, and copy over the menu in /PortableApps/PortableAppsMenu.
All the programs you added will still be there.
It worked great...how do I get portablesapps to start automatically?
PortableApps is so much better than Ceedo or U3. I had U3 and couldn't get it running on my computer at home at all....
Chris
Yeah I think u3 is only XP again...
If you installed the suite, then there should be a hidden file on the root of your drive called autorun.inf which tells the computer to autorun the drive - it won't automatically run it, but it will give you a menu when you insert the drive asking you if you want to.
Do you get that menu when you insert the drive? If you do, the icon for your drive will be the Portable Apps logo.
I downloaded the PortablesApps version where I add the programs I want. I do have an autorun.ini file but it doesn't run automatically on Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
Hmmm I don't know why that wouldn't work. I must admit it is a bit sporadic on my machine, sometimes it runs sometimes it doesn't...
Did you manage to manually load the menu? Did that patch work?
The patch worked perfectly and the applications were there when I loaded it on Windows 2000 Professional...thanks for your help.
is (as far as I know) only supported by Win XP with SP2. Older Windowses wont autorun any USB, no matter with or without an autorun.ini.
