hi
When I tick the "Integrate 7-Zip to shell context menu" and then click "OK", I get:
"an event was unable to invoke any of the subscribers" and it doesn't work.
got Windows 7 ultimate, 32Bit, I'm trying to do this as administrator
please help.
thanks.
Integrating portable apps into Windows Explorer's context menu is not supported. You can set 7-ZipPortable.exe as a recipient in the Send To menu, though.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I tried doing this when an account that is defined as "Administrator".
even though, when I right clicked 7-Zip and choose "Run as Administrator" and tried the same thing - it worked.
why if my account WAS an administrator ? I would still like an answer to that...
John, in what way is it not supported ? I just posted what made it work
or will this cause me trouble in the future?
When integrate something into explorer, the only way to properly unintegrate it is to restart explorer. Which means you need to kill explorer.exe to be able to eject. That gets a bit messy. That's why we don't support it.
The platform is adding in the ability to automatically have things integrate into explorer via the Send To menu in an upcoming release. 7-Zip Portable is already configured to take advantage of this once it is available.

and more importantly what number will that one be?
