As it so happens, I also love the neat black themes in my apps. Some GTK apps really easy to skin, if you check with in App\Gtk\bin or App\gtk\lib, you can find a theme switcher. In the case of the GIMP, its not so easy, regardless of if its portable or not.
I've done it. I wrote this guide that you can follow on how to skin your GTK apps.
Too many lonely hearts in the real world
Too many bridges you can burn
Too many tables you can't turn
Don't wanna live my life in the real world
thanks very much my friend!!
i find an other way (dont know if is a proper way)
-download the gimpers theme installer and install it (it puts the theme files to program files ...)
-merge the contents of the folder "GIMP-Themes v.1" (program files) with the contents of the folder GIMPPortable\App\gimp (some folders will be merged)
start Gimpthemes-v1.0.exe (located at GIMPPortable\App\gimp\bin) and choose your favorite skin
**Important -choose apply for all users-
then you can uninstall the gimper theme installer
- download the gimpers theme installer and install it (it puts the theme files to program files ...)
- This created two folders in (Program Files x86), my OS is Windows 7 64bit, the folder "GIMP-Themes v.1" and the folder "GIMP-2.0".
- merge the contents of the folder "GIMP-2.0" (program files x86) with the contents of the folder GIMPPortable\App\gimp (some folders will be merged)
The folder "GIMP-Themes v.1" had only two shortcuts, an ico and a readme text in it, so do not copy it or its contents.
- then you can uninstall the gimper theme installer
Thanks Noaven and OliverK.
