Possible error in portabilizing CamStudio as cause of update errors

I am the sole user of the PC, am part of the Administrators group, and am running Vista SP2. I added CamStudio to my list of apps, and it downloaded and installed correctly. It can be run successfully from the installation.

However, I have tried 3 times to use PortableApps to update it, when it showed that an update was available. Each attempt has failed with the same error. As soon as the download is finished, and installation begins, it stops immediately with the message "Can't initialize plugins directory. Please try again later."

I notice that the PortableApps directory structure does not include a "Plugins" directory. I thought that might be an omission responsible for the error, because the program might be able to install without it, but not update.

What do you think?

Works fine on my end

Here on Windows 7, I just updated from 2.0 rev 2 to 2.6 using the Updater without errors.

TEMP

That means your PC doesn't have a valid TEMP directory. It's either full or read-only or you don't have rights to it.

Huh?

Most computers that people own have many TEMP and TMP directories. Which one do you mean?

Why?

Why would you create an account to respond to a 3 year old topic with something that doesn't even relate to my answer?

Note that the above may be the start of a spammer account attempting to appear legitimate by posting a semi-related comment that actually has nothing at all to do with the discussion, a common tactic. The account will be deleted if a proper reply isn't posted.
