TaskCoach opens edit window (almost completely) off screen

I thought TaskCoach had broken because when I tried to "Edit" any task it apparently did nothing. However after messing around for some time and closing other windows, I finally noticed the tiniest corner of a window down in the lower right hand corner of my screen - and that was the taskcoach edit window!

So the problem is that when you move from a computer with a large screen (2560x1600 in this case) where you had the edit window open on the right or the bottom of the screen, to one with a significantly smaller screen (1920x1200 in this case), the edit window opens in the same position that it was last open on the larger screen - with the possibility of it being (almost at least) invisible and inaccessible.

If it had been entirely off screen, then I imagine it would be unfixable without going back to the computer with the large screen and moving it into a more accessible position. But maybe TaskCoach checks that at least the very top left corner falls within the screen area?

Common

This is common with portable software that maintains screen position internally. It will generally show up almost off screen but not fully. It's just something to be aware of. The more advanced software will take this into account when appearing on a new screen (example: the PortableApps.com Platform's menu handles positioning and screen changes in a relative fashion automatically). If you want the app itself to be more positionally aware, you'd need to contact the Task Coach devs. They build a portable mode into their app and activate it using a launcher we wrote for them. They maintain the portable version themselves.

Yes I have noticed this problem with other apps

In fact one that I can't remember, was really broken and could not be used any more on the computer with the smaller screen, without taking back to the large screen, moving it to a more accessible place and starting again on the small screen. I appreciate that it is the app itself that is at fault and I should either point it out to the authors, or what I usually do - save my time and work around it!

Thanks for the fast and full reply.

Quick Fix

If you ever lose a window, here's a way to bring it back on-screen.
