KeePass refuses to exit

not really sure what happaned..
but i have never had a problem before...
but today..
KeePass refuses to close.
no matter what i do..
it stays open.

i have to close via Task Manager.

My OS: Win7/64

i've been using KeePass since last year.

The only thing i was doing was using PAFInstaller.

---------------------

N/M.
it's not doing it anymore..
hmm.. i think it's because i had PAF Installer opened at the same time..
weird

Did you have a database open the second time?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/keepass/forums/forum/329221/topic/5314219

Seems there has been a regression in KeePass 1.22 (the base app I mean) - with no database open, KeePass won't close. With a database open, it will close.

I used to have a sig...until one of the mods ate it

Keepass portable 1.23,Windows 7 Starter,Portableapps 10.1.2

I have seen this problem occasionally under Windows XP 32-bit although it generally works under Windows XP, and it also works under Windows 7 Home Premium, but I have the problem permanently and repeatably under

Windows 7 Starter Edition, as found on netbooks
Portableapps 10.1.2
Keepass portable 1.23

It is strange. Keepass just won't exit.
Whether exit is ordered by
- clicking on the X on the top-right corner of the window
- Alt-F, X
- Ctrl-X
... it doesn't matter. Keepass just sits there and does not exit.
Even repeat clicking of the Windows "X" does not kill it; it must be killed via task manager.

It does not matter whether a database is open or not. The action is the same.

The strange thing is that any of the above EXIT actions seems to be interpreted by Keepass as "Lock the Workspace". There is no difference between "EXIT" and "Lock the Workspace"; they do exactly the same thing.

This is repeatable. I have uninstalled Keepass 1.23 and deleted all files and reinstalled it - same problem.

I intend to report this in the Keepass development forum also.

-----------------
More information: KeePass portable 1.23 fails to exit under Windows 7 Starter Edition as describe above when directly executed (on USB drive) from Windows Explorer, without PortableApps platform having been executed.

This is an issue with the base app introduced in 1.22. Please report it to the publisher.

Thank you. I have done this, and am awaiting response.

Update: (I have also posted this with KeePass on Sourceforge):

Now this is really strange.

The problem I originally described and in my first comment was repeatable on the Windows 7 Starter Edition system.

I wanted to test whether the KeePass 1.23 (non-portable) program had the same problem, so I installed it on that Windows 7 Starter Edition machine.

After install of the non-portable version, I could not reproduce the problem.
Then I re-tested KeePass 1.23 portable, both via the PortableApps platform, and also executing it directly via Windows Explorer, and now I can not reproduce the original problem with that.

Now I have un-installed KeePass 1.23 (non-portable), and I still can not reproduce the original problem (involving KeePass 1.23 portable).

Could it be that the act of installing the non-portable version had caused the bug to not manifest any more ?

I'm confused.

------------
Update: This gets more strange.
After a couple of days of KeePass Portable 1.23 working again under Windows 7 Starter Edition, it has now stopped working correctly and the bug as originally described is back. KeePass Portable 1.23 has to be killed with the Task Manager.

( This is for information of anyone who may be interested or affected. There has been no response as yet from the KeePass publisher on Sourceforge. )
