Wallpaper changer

Since the original author of LauncFromPort is not going to be releasing any newer versions, and since this app is open source, can anybody out there make a new app but configure it to where it does not need PStart? I personally use ASuite, and I'm sure others use different launchers. Thanks.
[EDIT] On version 1.0, I was able to move LaunchFromPort.exe to a different folder and automatically start it with ASuite. Once I exit ASuite, it would also restore to the previous wallpaper.

So you were able to install

So you were able to install this in PortableApps? I choose install but it can't see the winwall because of the extension. Suggestion?

winwall

I downloaded the app last night but I just wasn't sure how to install it. Do I install it like a normal program with the winwall installer into the apps folder? I tried to find it via PortApps but it couldn't see it. It looks for extension: .paf.exe. Thanks for responding.

Registry entries?

I gather from your post that it works from a USB key on different machines, but does WinWall leave registry entries or other stray information on the host machine (truly portable)?

Thanks.

It works!

I installed it to the hard drive and then copied the folder in the PortApps apps folder. It showed up in the list once I started it up. Now I have created a wallpaper folder in the documents folder and added some pictures. Now I've got changing wallpapers! I'm going to install this on my HTPC when I get home tonight. I think it would be cool on a media center.

portable

i love winwall. i also have a folder for papers a few 100 megs. Smile look into star doc. its not portable though. file manager, syncback, unlocker are a few of my other favorites. my port apps list constist of 700 megs and a crap load of programs. works great on a 60 gig portable hard drive. ive tried the port apps menu and the truth is it sucks BIG. pstart all the way. portapp menu i have as a 2nd. not all windows programs u can find on server based oses so i added the general telnet, defrag and disk cleanup and ms config for easy use. also faststone its a image sorter like picasa. i havent modified anything i got. so there all portable things.

im glad to hear someone finaly got winwall to work. Biggrin !!!!!!!!!

pstart

I'll have to look into this pstart and see what it's all about. I'm also trying to decide if I want to remove Open Office. I think it's taking up quite a bit of room.

nod

open office does take up about 150 megs so if ur on a thumb drive go w. something else. abi word is ok. i have textpad its not free but its great. pstart u can add just what u want. its more customizable. portapps i get like 50 other things in that arent programs. there things for programs 2 make them work. pstart is much more user friendly. autostart capability, backup, notes. and FOLDERS. i have all my shortcuts in it also. and it gives the system info 2. and the search for exe like portapp also.

dumping

Yeah, I'll dump Open Office. If I decide that I need it in the future then I'll reload it. I'll check out Pstart too. Thanks.
