because it concern most of the available apps of the site except for gimp portable and open office.
Would it be possible to have the possibility to enable or not the same kind of
loading progress within the splash screen like GIMP portable does? At least fore the
more complex to load it would nice to know what is going on, for example both my FF and Tbd are skinned so of course their loading time is longer specialy after the splash screen fade away.in those case I would prefer the splash to stay with progress details until every thing is loaded.

I think it would be complex, as the splash shown is just a call to bring up an image for a bit when first loaded... though who knows - maybe John has some secret NSIS scripting up his sleeves - he seems to be able to manage everything else!
I as mentionned if tou start GIMP portable is splash screen has an extra portion at the bottom that give exact details what is been loaded as profile, module, plugin etc... and when the splash goes everything pop up right there ready to use.
That's actually GIMP's internal progress meter. OpenOffice.org has one, too. None of the other apps do.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Firefox sorta has one with the Splash extension.
Note: I did say sorta.
